Click 4 Obama Blog

We just re-launched our Facebook version of Click 4 Obama with a new multiplayer game that lets you play with your friends.  You and your friends compete in fast-paced rounds to answer as many questions correct as possible in the allotted time.  The more you play, the more ads you donate so challenge your friends now to find out who is smartest!

Wow, we are really starting to churn out pixels now! We’ve managed to get over 4,000 ads worth so far. It’s hard to imagine that less than a week ago we broke 1,000,000 pixels for the first time. It’s great to see so many people enjoying the game and supporting Obama.

The 20 million is in large part due to hundreds of new players clicking for Obama yesterday! We owe a lot of our growth to our supporters with blogs. Check out the great press they’ve been giving us:

Why We Need Obama

I just released a Facebook version of Click 4 Obama. It’s all the same fun of the original Click 4 Obama built into your favorite social network. As a Facebook app, it is easier than ever to challenge and compete with your friends while supporting Obama.

You may notice from the screenshot that I had to lose the ad puzzle due to size constraints. Plus the Facebook version doesn’t have all the same pages as the website. I tweaked the content to better fit into Facebook; so I link to the site for some of the extra pages instead of including them in the app. This is my first Facebook app so I’d appreciate any and all feedback to make it better.

Our friends over at MoveOn.org have thrown together a fun little quiz game about the similarities and quirks of Bush and McCain. It provides some interesting and thought provoking revelations about McCain. Take the Bush-McCain Challenge now and find out if you can tell the difference between Bush and McCain!

I finally got the ranking scoreboard work done (click the thumbnail to see it full-size). It took a few days longer than I anticipated because I had to build the whole concept of a user into the game. I’ve kept it as simple as possible so there are no logins or passwords and your user is your browser cookie so make sure you don’t lose your cookie .

The ranking scoreboard shows the top 10 ranking players for the current day and for all time. If you aren’t in the top 10 it will show you how far down the chain you are. It also has a nice pie graph showing the current levels of the players.

My skills at the game are obviously lacking compared to the hordes of anonymous people and the unrivaled skill of Mr. Don M. Fall, the current leader. All of the ‘Anonymous’ people are the default names for people who played before I setup the user system. It will be a challenge to knock all those Anonymous people out but I trust that if Don could do it then we can too!

The “Question of the Day” (QOTD) subscription option shows up when you are first prompted to setup your user profile. Just enter your email address and leave the subscription box checked to start receiving the emails when I get around to sending the first ones out later today. If you are an RSS feed sort of person you can subscribe to the Question of the Day RSS feed.
