How does the Click4Obama game work?

Click4Obama has a custom database containing thousands of questions at varying degrees of difficulty. There are questions appropriate for young kids and the most scholarly professors. In between are thousands of questions for students, business people, homemakers, doctors, truck drivers, retired people... everyone!

Click4Obama automatically adjusts to your knowledge level. It starts by giving you questions at different levels of difficulty and then, based on how you do, assigns you an approximate starting level. You then determine a more exact level for yourself as you play. When you get a question wrong, you go to an easier level. When you get three questions in a row right, you go to a harder level. This one-to-three ratio is best for keeping you at the “outer fringe” of your ability, where learning can take place.

There are 10 levels in all, but it is rare for people to get much above level 7.

How is the difficulty level for each question determined?

The website uses an adaptive algorithm to rank question difficulty. Each time you answer a question your response affects the question’s ranking. Questions that most people find easy (answer correctly) slowly move to the lower levels and questions that most people find difficult (answer incorrectly) slowly move to the higher levels. As more and more people answer questions, the difficulty ranking becomes increasingly more accurate.

Is Click4Obama adding more questions?

Yes. We are constantly adding new and exciting questions to the Click4Obama database, but we need your help. If you have a question that you would like to contribute, please visit our Submit a Question page.

What happens if my computer suddenly loses power while I am in the middle of playing? Does my donation still count?

Yes, our servers register your donations every time you answer a question. In fact, your donations may trigger ads to appear on the internet while you are playing.

Couldn’t I just write a computer program to play all day and give a lot of pixels that way?

No, that would not be helpful. We depend on the revenue from advertisements to cover the price of your donations. Without real people playing, companies will not be willing to sponser the site.
